Delivered to the RAF as Hunter F.4 XE665 in 1955. Transferred to the Royal Navy in 1957 and converted to a Hunter T.8C. Loaned to the RAF in 1980 and returned to the Royal Navy in 1984. Sold and registered as G-BWGM in 1995. Based at Exeter. Moved to Kemble in 2006 and stored. Registration cancelled in 2011. Preserved at Kemble from 2013.

Built as an F.4 for the RAF, XE665 was soon converted to two-seat configuration and moved to the Royal Navy, serving 764 NAS before joining the Yeovilton Station Flight in blue and white 'Admiral's Barge' colours. Later users were 759 and 738 NAS at Brawdy, ADTU and FRADU Yeovilton, 237 OCU Honington, but she finished her service career back at FRADU. Acquired by Delta Jets at Kemble with registration G-BWGM and passing to Midair, she was repainted in this plain silver scheme and is now looked after by the Buccaneer Aviation Group in this spot next to the AV8 cafe.

Built by Hawkers Blackpool factory in 05.55 as an F.4 for the RAF. Converted to T.8 two-seat for Royal Navy. Sold as G-BWGM in 1995.

Previously G-BWGM this registration was cancelled by the CAA in 2011 and the aircraft is now displayed near the cafe at Kemble

FRADU (Fleet Requirements and Air Direction Unit)

Of all the cold-war jets the Hunter was (IMHO) the most aesthetically beautiful....although the two-seat version perhaps a little less so than the single seater!

Built as an F.4 for the RAF and first flown in 5.55; converted to T.8 and delivered to the FAA in 1959, operating for a time in blue and white 'Admiral's Barge' colours. Served FRADU 1975-79 and sold as G-BWGM in 1995, now pending possible return to flying condition
