Delivered to Qantas as L-1049E VH-EAE in 1954 and modified to L-1049G/02 in 1958, then to Capitol from July 1960. Stored at Wilmington/DE by 1968 and later scrapped.

Converted to an L1049H with a rear freight door in 1960. Remained in service with Qantas until the end of the 1962 then sold in the US as N9714C.

Served Iberia from 1954 until 1967, initially as an L-1049E, but later updated to L-1049G with tip tanks etc. Here arriving at Manchester when operating a Summer inclusive tour holiday flight in 80-seat configuration on behalf of Aviaco. Used on the Biafran airlift by RAPSA as HP-475 in 1968/69 and impounded at Abidjan in March 1970 and broken up there in early 1971.
