This Spitfire fuselage is made from major bits of Spitfire Mk Vc A58-27 (BR484), which was exported to Australia in 1942 and struck off in 1948 after being at 6AD, Oakey. The Hunter Warbirds museum had it on display to promote their proposed airworthy restoration of Mk Ia X4009.

Built in 1942 in the UK, this aircraft was delivered to Australia in 1943. As part of RAAF 79 Squadron, it saw service in Papua New Guinea. On the 29th August 1943 it crashed on Kiriwina Island and was transported to Goodenough Island to be repaired. It was found there in 1971 by Landgon Badger, and in 1973 it was shipped to Adelaide for four-year-long restoration at Parafield Airport. The aircraft became part of the South Australian Aviation museum exposition in 2001

Constructed in 1942 by Westland Aircraft Ltd, Yeovil, Somerset, UK, shipped to Australia in 1943. It became part of the RAAF's 79 Sqn at Goodenough Island and later Kiriwina Island, PNG, with Squadron code UP-O. Shipped to Adelaide in 1973, it was restored and placed on display in 2001.

Ex RAAF A58-146, crashed on Goodenough Island on August 28, 1943. Salvaged from the crash site in 1972, then restored for static display. Later to the South Australian Aviation Museum.
