This 1975 Guinness Peat Aviation 737 spent most of it's time in America West or hybrid color schemes. Pictured in full Pacific Western colors (the original lessee), the aircraft was broken up in Vancouver, BC during after 2001. The hulk was sunk near Chemainus, BC to become the Xihuw (pronounced KEYquot) artificial reef.

Delivered new to Pacific Western 13th Jan 1975 and leased to America West as N128AW July 1983 - May 1985, then merged into Air Canada Apr 2001 but the aircraft was withdrawn from use CYVR (Vancouver) 3rd Sep 2001, scrapped Sep 2002

Upon retirement, this former Canadian Airlines International, Pacific Western Airlines Boeing 737 was completely stripped, then put on a barge and moved to the Stuart Channel near Chemainus and amid a joyous celebration including hundreds of boats and a ferry, was sunk and is now an artificial reef enjoyed by divers from all over the world.

Delivered to Pacific Western Airlines in 1975, C-GBPW was leased to America West from 1983 - 85. After returning, PW merged with CP Air to form Canadian Airlines in 1987. The airplane didn't quite make the full transition to Canadian colors as it was leased again to America West in May 1989. After it's return in 1998, it flew in Canadian colors until withdrawn six months after a merger with Air Canada (2001). It was parted out and the hulk sunk off the BC coast to make an artificial reef.
