Taxiing back to Chimo Air's Red Lake base. Built in 1948 for the civil market. Became NC80155 of the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co of Akron, Ohio. Later re-registered as N1830M. Imported to Canada as CF-HZA in 1954, initially with Midwest Aviation Ltd of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Became C-FHZA in 1990 when it was also put on floats, entering service with Ross Air at Emo, Ontario until 1999. Moved to Red Lake in 1999. Joined Northwest Flying Inc at Nestor Falls, Ontario in 2013.

Registered to Northwest Flying Inc 6 May 2013. Seen floating in to the dock after shutting down both engines. Note the unusual three bladed propellers. We then chartered it for a local flight with the owner.

Originally built for the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co in 1948 and imported into Canada in 1954. Here it was Red lake/ON based but on winter lay-up at this remote site in the bush. By 2021 it was still in service owned by Northwest Flying at Nestor Falls (CKT3). Just north of Redditt town is a VIA Rail Station, on the opposite side of which is an unlicenced grass strip. Mainly used for winter lay-up of floatplanes which are towed up from a lake to the west via a narrow channel.
