Composite airframe assembled from Canadian-built 2403 with parts from three others. After assembly, flew in the UK registered G-BCWL and marked 'V9281'. To Kermit Weeks in 1999, unflown and marked as V9545 and loaned to the museum at Lakeland.

Actually an RCAF machine serialled 2346, this Lysander was stored post-war in Ontario, Canada till restoration to flying condition in 1973 at Van Nuys, CA, then assuming the RAF identity N7791 (which is not a civil N reg). Donated to the Smithsonian in 1979

Weighing almost 2000 kg (4400 lbs) empty, the Lysander was very different from the light scout and liaison planes used by the Allies later in WWII. It was more succesful as a special operations aircraft.
