The T-50 is Sukhoi's internal name for the prototype, developmental and pre-production test aircraft of the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter. The aircraft is a single-seat, twin-engine, fighter designed for air superiority as well as ground attack and will be the first operational aircraft in Russian service to use stealth technology. The Su-57 is intended to succeed the MiG-29 and Su-27 in Russian Air Force service. This T-50 example was pictured as part of the flying display at MAKS 2013.
The MiG-29M2 (Fulcrum-E) aircraft is a 4++ generation multi-role fighter an improved fuselage and wing, multiple redundancy fly-by-wire, extended range, a significantly reduced radar signature and improved weapons systems. This example took part in the flying display for MAKS 2013.
The terrible weather on this day shut down the flying display at MAKS 2013 until late in the day. Fortunately, at least some flying took place and this shot of a Russian Knights Flanker-B came out OK considering the difficult conditions.
