As YR-BCO operating for Tarom this aircraft was damaged beyond repair during a heavy landing at Istanbul on 30th Dec 1995.

Back in those days I had only a fixed 135 mm lens inherited from my dad. I didn't really know what I was doing, only that I loved to take pictures of aeroplanes - thankfully that love has stayed with me ever since!

The One-Eleven was still common at Schiphol in my Praktica days, but I never managed a good picture then or ever since, so I was delighted to photograph ZH763 here at the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre, still looking great after her final flight in 2013 and still not boxed in as usual in museums. In the second c/s... delivered 4.80 and to Nationwide as ZS-NUJ in 7.95; became 9Q-CDY with Air Katanga in 2.04 then ITAB in 2005. Leased to CAA 1.08 but suffered major hydraulic failure at Mbuji Mayi, DRC in 3.08 and possibly pwfu

One of a pair of 1-11s leased to Lauda in their early stages; delivered to Tarom as YR-BCM in 8.77 and flew as OE-ILD for a year from 3.85. With Ryanair as EI-BVI from 4.88 to 10.93 (another lease to an airline set to grow far bigger). Dbr at Stockholm-ARN on 7.6.97 - bounced on landing, nose wheel hit heavily first, steering lost and veered off runway (flight RO335 from BUH). Hulk acquired by Caravelle Club, traded to RSAF for a Caravelle and trucked 600kms to Halmstad for use as a fire & rescue trainer

Ryanair have come a long way since then. A relatively rare shot with the full tail colours - earlier this was white. Leased from Tarom 4.88-10.93 and reverted to YR-BRG, then AP-BFF for Aero Asia from 10.95. Wfu at Karachi by 2007
