This 1979 737 sports Pacific Western's final color scheme.

Delivered to Pacific Western Airlines February 28, 1979, this 737 would continue to fly with Canadian Airlines and Air Canada until retired. It was donated to the Alberta Aviation Museum and displayed at Edmonton's downtown City Center airport in 1970 Pacific Western Airlines colors. When the city closed the airport, the aircraft made one more flight in 2013 to near by Villeneuve Airport to be stored.

Delivered to Pacific Western on September 5, 1979 and stayed through the mergers with CP Air and Air Canada. Stored at Mojave in 2003 and re-registered as N290TR.

PWA took delivery of this 737 December 18, 1981.

Delivered April 10, 1981 to Pacific Western Airlines and merged with CP Air in 1987 to form Canadian Airlines. Still in interim color scheme here, Air Canada would withdraw it at the end of 2002 after taking over Canadian. It unfortunately crashed in the Congo with Bako Air (TL-ADM) April 30, 2009 on a ferry flight.

A recent return to Athens prompted me to look out some shots from the golden days of the old airport at Hellinikon, and I was reminded what an excellent variety could be seen there. This classic 737 (with a smoky APU) started out in 12.72 as CF-PWW with Pacific Western and was leased to PA for 5 years from 5.82. After use by various operators including COPA, ended up back in Canada in 11.95 with WestJet as C-GWJG. To US late 2005 and scrapped

Still flying the vestiges of Pacific Western Airlines' regional routes, this 737's next stops are Hay River and Yellowknife.

Over a year after the formation of Canadian Airlines, this 737 is getting the full Canadian Airlines color scheme; only the lower fuselage and engines yet to be painted blue. C-GJPW wore two different Pacific Western color schemes as well as two Canadian Airlines and one of Air Canada during the twenty-two years if flew in Canada.

Sold in 1998 to Bahamasair who finally withdrew it from service at the end of 2008.
