First flight 1966, this Learjet was a true oldy! It is former an ASSESS airborne telescope aircraft. and served this laboratory from 1973 onwards. The 24A was then delivered NASA Ames (N702NA) where it was registered on 10 Jun'74. It was moved to Dryden on 9 Feb'98 as N805NA. The jet was sadly lost in an accident on 7 Jun'01 during a hard landing at Victorville (CA). The 24A was under control of the co-pilot who disengaged the yaw damper and entered a pilot induced lateral oscillation. The airplane rapidly decelerated and developed a high sink rate. It bounced several times and came to rest.

In a yard by Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in 2002 then to Aviation Warehouse, El Mirage, CA by 2004, Still there in 2012. Tail used in a sculpture displayed in Paris in 2012/13. Later scrapped.

Listed in many online databases as being registered to Friedkin Enterprises at this time, which can be explained by the close association of the Friedkin family with Pacific Southwest Airlines. Kenny Friedkin founded the airline in 1949, together with his wife Jean, who became a director and vice-president of the company. Their son, Tom Friedkin, was a full-time pilot for the airline.

Registered new with the Lear Jet Corporation as N656LJ in Apr 1968. Delivered to the West German register as D-IFUM in Jun1968. TO the USA as N44GA on 30 Jun 1976. To Canada with Saxon Industrial Management as C-GSAX in Jan 1977. Back to the US as N44GA in Jul 1983. Crashed and w/o at Catalina Island's Avalon Bay on 30 Jan 1984 when landing 500 feet too long and went over a bluff. All six on board were killed. Behind the Lear is N760 a DC-3-362 owned by Union Oil of California.

Registered as N81MC in 1977. Destroyed in a fatal crash into the water on approach to St.Thomas, US Virgin Islands in 1984.

Registered as N348VL in 1967, N348BJ in 1971, N43AJ in 1977, N141PJ in 1989, XB-FJW in 1990 and XB-GHO in 1995. Destroyed in a fatal crash into building on approach to Pachuca in 2011.
