Registered new in Australia on 1 June 1951.

This aircraft is painted as RAAF A24-30 but it is in fact a composite aircraft put together from hulks found at various farms in Australia. The fuselage is from RAAF A24-38 (cn 1097 - formerly an instructional airframe at Lake Boga), the cockpit section from Dutch Navy Catalina Y-72 or Y-76, and the wings are from an unidentified PBY-4.

Manufactured in 1980 and initially registered N67224. However, exported to Australia new and registered VH-MXK to Hazletons on 14 May 1980. Acquired by Pearl Aviation and re-registered VH-FII(3) on 30 July 2001. Subsequently fitted with AD-FIS-8 flight survey equipment removed from Airservices Australia Astra VH-FIS, which it then replaced. Used for navigation aid calibration on contract to Airservices Australia. Last flight on 5 September 2012: engines and equipment removed and the airframe donated QAM in 2013. Airways calibration equipment donated to the Airways Museum, Essendon.

A revolutionary aircraft type that promised much but did not deliver... This Starship was registered N82428 to Beech on 8 October 1992. It remained owned by Beech in various guises until 2000 when it was re-registered N786BP to 86 BP Inc. In 2003 Beech began buying back all the Starships to reduce the support burden, and this aircraft was purchased from disposal agents Evergreen in 2004 by Pay's Air Service in Australia for its engines. Ferried from Scone to Caloundra on 24 November 2004, where the engines were removed and the airframe became a training aid. Acquired by QAM in January 2015.

Built to USAAF order as 44-41956 but delivered to the RAAF in 1945 as A72-176. Disposed of for scrap in 1948, the fuselage of this Liberator was recovered from a farm near Sale where it had been since 1952. Restoration commenced in 1988 and considerable progress has been made. The airframe is substantially complete inside and out (although the tailplane and fins are stored separately for the time being), and the flight deck is temporarily set up as a separate display.

Exported to Australia and registered VH-GWH(4) 7 December 2012.

This homebuilt Osprey was registered on 19 November 1992. It's a good example of how aircraft registered with RAAus under CAO 95.10 need only display the digits of their individual number, rather than their full registration. DV924 is the aircraft's boat registration.

It was registered to the Civil Aviation Branch of the Department of Defence as G-AUAE on 5 November 1925, the first of at least 36 Moths loaned to the Aero Club movement to support pilot and engineer training. Re-registered VH-UAE in 1929 and impressed into the RAAF as A7-88 during the Second World War. This un-airworthy fuselage was left over from a 1980s rebuild and is preserved as a non-flying relic.

This smart 1982 Tomahawk was originally N2605V. Exported to Australia in 1985, it was registered VH-JAM on 28 June that year.

This Tiger was built by De Havilland Australia to an RAF order, but entered service with the RAAF under its RAF serial T5531. Post-war, it became VH-ATD on 1 June 1946. It was re-registered as VH-RNL on 5 April 1955, then VH-CXV on 11 September 1961. Currently based at the former RAAF wartime training aerodrome at Cressy in Western Victoria.

VH-UTE was first registered, new, on 2 January 1936 and is one of the few Hornet Moths not to have been converted to square-wingtip D.H.87B standard.

Michael Smith's magnificent SeaBear VH-OMS Southern Sun.

The SeaBear has a unique access method: a walkway from the stern, between the twin fins and underneath the tailplane, to the rear of the cabin. Odd, but very practical when beached.

This lovely SeaBear was registered new in Australia as VH-YWN(2) on 23 August 2022. The L-45 is slightly smaller than its larger L-65 brother.

This SeaRey was originally N384GP. It was re-registered in Australia as VH-XWW(2) on 6 May 2010. On 22 March 2015 the aircraft was damaged at Lake Eyre SA and it did not return to the Register until 24 October 2017. Since last photographed for the database the aircraft has acquired a modified colour scheme with extensive signwriting reflecting, among other things, an around-Australia flight in 2024 to commemorate the centenary of the first circumnavigation of Australia by air.
