Lovely low approach to runway 06L at Volkel. FMS serial 80-3617 and Fokker built F-16A Block 15 with line number L-100. The Fighting Falcon was delivered to the Koninklijke Luchtmacht on 14 June 1982. It was modified to F-16AM in 2000 and damaged during an exercise at Cold Lake (Canada). The F-16AM slipped in the snow off the taxitrack and dropped down into the wet ground. Its nose wheel broke down which resulted in damage to the intake and the expensive ALQ-pod. Aircraft was repaired and redelivered to the KLu. It was eventually sold to Chile as 741 and delivered on 4 April 2011

This MM6815 was built by Fiat Aviazione/Aeritalia as F-104S (S=Sparrow) and delivered to the Aeronautica Italiana in early 1973. Unfortunately, the Sparrow crashed at the approach of Trapani-Birgi after it went out of control at low level and dove into the water, killing its Tenente pilota Michelangelo Trimarchi on 12 November 1996.

It served the NATO Stabilization Force (SFOR) in the Balkans in 2005, hence the titels on the fuselage and tail The Cougar was retired in May 2011, but weas reactivated some months later. The Cougar was still active in 2024 but went to Heli One in Stavanger (Norway) for maintenance where it was last noted in July 2024.

This weird and rare Heliopolis product was planned for transfer to a civil owner in the Netherlands, but it was not registered as such. Eventually, the aircraft most probably returned to Egypt. It was flew in to Gilze on 14 June by an Egypt Air Force C-130H. The Gomhuria served the Egypt Air Force academy from 1957 to 2004.
