Making the necessarily steep approach, when arriving over the city, to land in Victoria's Outer Harbour. On 30 September 2016, the aircraft unintentionally impacted the water off Lopez Island, Washington, while the pilot was attempting to land in poor visibility due to ground fog. The aircraft came to rest upright, but was substantially damaged and began shipping water. The pilot and three passengers successfully evacuated and were shortly rescued from the sea by boat. The aircraft subsequently sank and was not recovered.

Its US Navy career included work with the Pacific Missile Test Centre at Point Mugu, California with further modification and another change of designation to NRA-3B. In 1969 it gained an experimental sonobuoys installation on the fuselage side. At the conclusion of military service, registered N256HA with Raytheon Flight Systems for further test work. Scrapped in 2002.

Seen here painted in Shell colours for the making of a 1997 TV commercial in which it appears to be refuelling, from the air, a red Ferrari racing car being driven at speed on a desert highway.
