Really great for me to see a Tigercat going through her paces during a smashing display at Wings over Houston 2011.

Taxing out in the late afternoon sun at the Autumn air show at Duxford

This was the 15th of 250 Tigercats to roll off the assembly line before joining VMF-911 at MCAS Cheery Point in March 1945. Her service lasted only three years before joining the civilian register as N7654C, even serving time as a fire-bomber before being acquired by the National Naval Aviation Museum in 1980.

Sun rises on Ellington Field prior to the start of the Wings over Houston airshow. This Tigercat, one of the rarest warbirds on the circuit, is pictured during the 'Sunrise Photo Tour' waiting to be called into action later in the day.

After finishing its time with the Marines this F7F moved between the USMC museum at Quantico, the NNAM at Pensacola and the Yankee Air Force Museum at Willow Run before ending up at the Planes of Fame Museum at Chino. Currently displayed outside in this unrestored condition.

This rare Grumman F7F-3 Tigercat awaits restoration.

The Tigercat was a high-performance carrier-borne fighter flown by the USN and USMC from 1944 to 1954. Although too late to see combat service in WW2, it did so in Korea. This example was originally BuAer no. 80374 and at the time of this photo was part of Sis-Q's varied water-bomber fleet. Under restoration to flying condition at Chino in 2011, should be one of six flyable and 12 surviving altogether

Very nice looking F7F Tigercat at the 1995 Oshkosh Show

Shown with belly spray tank whilst serving Sis-Q at Santa Rosa in the fire-fighting role. Now operates as a warbird in USN markings.
