Ex 54-2414, later became PH-APA. The aircraft in the background is equally interesting. It looks to be the PH-EAB, a Miles M.57 Aerovan operated by Nastra Luchtreclame Service and based at Rotterdam. That aircraft was destroyed by gale in November 1961. Based on this information, the location could be Rotterdam.

Built as PH-FGT, to HB-AAV with Swissair/Balair. Registered to NLM Cityhopper in March 1972, which merged with KLM Cityhopper in August 1990. To Fokker Aircraft in November 1990. To Sudamericana de Aviacion in December 1993 as LV-WEL. Withdrawn from use at Buenos Aires (SAEZ) in December 1996. Broken up in October 2003.

A lovely Air-to-Air session featuring 082, with 084 (ex U-45, c/n MD-25) as photoship. The Dutch Navy operated 6 aircraft, 'given' to them as part of the MDAP (Mutual Defence Assistance Program). Initially serialed U-41 to U-46, from 1959 they became 080 - 085. They were based with the 5 Sqn at Valkenburg. The aircraft were upgraded to TC-45J's in 1963 and used as training aircraft for navigators and observers. Most aircraft left the service in February 1974. Registered L2-27 between October 24, 1941 and January 17, 1945. Shipped from the Dutch Indies to the UK for Prince Bernhard, arriving at Liverpool on August 6, 1942. To the 1316 (Allied) Flight, mostly flown by Prince Bernhard. Transferred to the Dutch Government again on January 17, 1945 with fake serial EX735. Late 1945, the aircraft moved from Hendon to Valkenburg, where the 1 TransVA was founded. The Lockheeds carried the (paper) serials AX236, BX238, CX245, DX246 and EX753, but these weren't always applied. T-5 eventually crashed. Photo from W. Muntinga

During the delivery of both Dantorps to Denmark, the aircraft made a precautionary landing on the leg from Amsterdam to Copenhagen after one of them aircraft suffered engine trouble near the German islands. 202 tipped over on its nose during the landing and was damaged. Second serial was '6-3'. In 1951, the early delivered aircraft (incl. this one) were converted to FB.60, the export version of the FB.11. The aircraft was eventually scrapped. Location is possible Valkenburg, but I haven't been able to find confirmation. Photo from W. Muntinga

Ex. 78/14. It landed near Vlodrop in August 1916 after being shot at. Bought in February 1917. On March 14, 1917 the aircraft tipped over on its nose on the beach at Noordwijk. On September 1, 1917, the aircraft was again involved in an accident, when an emergency landing was conducted near Putten (aftermath seen in this photo). The aircraft again crashed on December 4, 1917 and was written off. A photo shows the aircraft straight up on its nose, with relatively little damage to it except for the nose/engine. Delivered to KLM in May 1958, cancelled in July 1962. Later to N45515 with World Airways (July 1962), Flying Tiger Line (August 1963), Murphree Air International (February 1969), North Slope Supply Co. (June 1969), R.C. Wheatley (December 1969), Dean E. For telegraph operator and reconnaissance training, the Netherlands Air Force acquired 10 Proctors from British surplus in 1947. On the underside of the wing you can just make out the Netherlands Air Force roundel. This Proctor served with the Air Force between June 25, 1947 until October 1953 and was then scrapped. The back of the photo says "Lustrijka '47", which was an exhibition held in 1947. 'Lustrijka' is very likely the abbreviation for 'Luchtstrijdkrachten', which means Air Force. The aircraft still has the serial NP360 here which was later in 1947 replaced by W-11 after the new serial system became operational. Photo from W. Muntinga
