Built as a compact C-141A, served the 443rd MAW, and was converted to a stretched C-141B by early 1980. The fuselage of the C-141B was extended in front and aft the wings by adding plug sections giving the aircraft 23 feet 4 inches (7,11 m) additional length. 64-0650 continued to operate a stretched Lifter with the 305th and 60th MAW. The Lifter was eventually stored from September 1995 at AMARC and received inventory code CR0012. The storage era for the aircraft ended by April 1997. It was broken up by June 2003.

This is former PH-MAR, a DC-9-33RC of Martinair. The aircraft was delivered in April 1969 and served the Dutch company until late 1982. It became N909DC with McDonnel Douglas and was converted for military service. The DC-9 was delivered to the US Navy in June 1983, was redesignated to C-9B, and served VR-51 until the mid-nineties. Was transferred to VR-52 (initially named Spirit of Valley Forge, later Spirit of Somerset County) and retired from US Navy service in October 2003. It was transferred to the National Nuclear Security Administration and became N45NA.

In late '75, Marine Strike Fighter squadron (VMFA) 112 Cowboys switched from F-8D/E Crusader to the F-4 Phantom II. On 18 Jan'92, the squadron retired the last F-4S squadron in active service. The squadron transitioned to F/A-18A Hornet by Oct'92. VMFA-112 moved from NAS Dallas (TX) to nearby NAS Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base (JRB) in Sep'96. This 155829 was built as F-4J, converted to F-4S in the early '80s, and moved in Jul'93 to Cherry Point (NC) for storage and by '08 it was converted to QF-4S. Served VX-30 from Point Mugu for a while and was retired by February 2003.

In late 1975, Marine Strike Fighter squadron (VMFA) 112 Cowboys switched from F-8D/E Crusader to the F-4 Phantom II. On 18 January 1992, the squadron retired the last F-4S squadron in active service. The squadron transitioned to F/A-18A Hornet by October 1992. VMFA-112 moved from NAS Dallas (TX) to nearby NAS Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base (JRB) in September 1996. 155847 moved in July 1991 to MCAS Cherry Point (NC) for storage and by 2003 it was converted to QF-4S. By late 2003 was reported as dumped at San Nicolas Island (CA) and was officially removed from USN/USMC inventory.

After serving the Alabama Air National Guard from Birmingham ANGB, the recce Phantom was forced to stay on the ground at AMARC (later 309th AMARG). The aircraft arrived in the desert on 18 December 1991 and left the storage area on 13 February 2014. Unfortunately, like many Phantoms, also this RF-4C was demolished.

As they used the be... what a beauty! 765 was transferred after it served the 171st FIS to the 148th TFG of the Minnesota Air National Guard (see AirHistory picture 296086). The Phantom II was retired to AMARC with inventory code FP0460 on 13 March 1990. The F-4D was taken from storage on 1 June 1999 and subsequently scrapped by HVF West at Tucson. Terrible!

A toned-down 171st FIS aircraft, full colour it's better... but hey... it's a Phantom! Arriving at home base Selfridge ANGB after a sortie over Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, this Phantom only has to drop its chute before its directed to the parking spot. 598 was retired on 2 July 1990 to AMARC with inventory code FP0524. The aircraft was removed from the hot storage area by late 2009 and sadly scrapped by HVF West Tucson.
