With N-Reg in soluble paint, it became D-EKPB and lasted until 1987 when it struck terrain in Corsica. The keen spotter looking for the c/n is typical of how we dressed and behaved back then. Polished shoes, smart clothes and the inevitable duffel bag.

This was in operation for the Biafra Air Force during the war in Nigeria. It got damaged by rocket fire at Port Harcourt in September 1967 and somehow found its way to Sao Tome where attempts were made to repair it and get it to the USA. I saw a TV documentary about this at some point. There was a problem with the paperwork and it never went and ended up as an instructional airframe with the Nigeria Air Force.

In June 1965 it was restored to MAS (although obviously not repainted) until September 1967 when the C of R was cancelled. Final chapter: broken up at Southend in August 1968.
