Preserved on board CV-10 USS 'Yorktown'.

Still in the markings of VT-10, its last unit. VT-10 is based at NAS Pensacola. This a/c is now on loan to the USS Lexington Museum in Corpus Christi, TX where it is on display.

On static display at the airshow. This TF-9J was assigned to VT-25 at NAS Beeville, TX.

Built as a TF-9J trainer but displayed in fighter colour scheme of VF-24. Wears spurious serial "66475".

Lost without trace over the Gulf of Mexico on October 31, 1991, while flying from Houston to Tallahassee.

Some F9F Cougars survived into the 1960s in the US Navy as F-9s, especially F9F-8T two-seat trainers, and this example is marked with the new TF-9J designation. The Blue Angels had already replaced the Cougar with the F11F Tiger by 1957. However, since the Tiger came single-seat only, the team retained one two-seat Cougar as its ship 7. Historic photos show BuNo 142470 in this capacity so the paint job of 146417 here may be presumed to be fake.

This Cougar was designated originally as a F9F-8T but it changed to TF-9J in 1962. After retirement it went on display at the Tuskegee Municipal Airport/Moton Field, Tuskegee, AL but was transferred to the very interesting Hickory Aviation Museum in 2014.
