VH-EBA photographed six days before operating the first Qantas 747 service to Singapore via Perth. In 1984 it was sold to Guiness Peat Aviation and leased to Air Lanka as 4R-ULF. It returned to Qantas, on lease , in 1986 and clocked up a further seven years with the Flying Kangaroo named "City of Ipswich". When it departed Qantas for the second time in was the US where it became N614AR. At the time it had amassed more than 68,000 hours.

The first Qantas 707, VH-EBA was delivered as a 707-138 with JT3C jet engines. It was fitted with JT3D turbofans in 1961 to became a -138B or V-Jet to Qantas. -EBA was sold in 1967 to Pacific Western as CF-PWV. In 2006 if returned to Australia for the Qantas museum as Longreach, Queensland, registered VH-XBA
