The An-12 flew once as CCCP-11724 in all-grey colour with small 'Aeroflot' titles/logo. Equipped with chaff/flare dispensers and ECM equipment this aircraft saw action over Afghanistan in 1989. In 1992 it was re-registered as RA-11321 Special Cargo Airlines as former Soviet Air Force. Late 1995 the aircraft it moved to the Liberian register as EL-AKR followed in mid-1996 to YA-PAA in Afghanistan. The ANA-AC painted it as 00406. It was reported withdrawn from use in 2009.

When An12's like this show up in SHJ they are normally exported to Africa. That also happened to this one but it returned to Europe later. To D2-FDB, 3C-QQY and LZ-VED.
