Still has YA-PAA painted underneath the wing. The Afghan National Army - Air Corps (ANA-AC) operated this An-12BP briefly. The An-12 flew once as CCCP-11724 in all-grey color with small 'Aeroflot' titles/logo. Equipped with chaff/flare dispensers and ECM equipment this aircraft saw action over Afghanistan in 1989. In 1992 it was re-registered as RA-11321 Special Cargo Airlines as former Soviet Air Force. Late 1995 the aircraft it moved to the Liberian register as EL-AKR followed in mid-1996 to YA-PAA in Afghanistan. The ANA-AC painted it as 00406. It was reported withdrawn from use in 2009.
