While in service with the USAF, this Albatross was loaned to Pan Am in 1969. It operated a weekly service as PA163 from Mombasa, Kenya to a satellite tracking station at Mahe, Seychelles, on a joint contract with the Philco Radio Corp. and the US government. It flew in bare metal as "0-17163", with a Pan Am logo on the nose. It was withdrawn from use on 3 Nov 1971, and stored at Long Beach, CA. It became N70725 in Sep 1977, and in 1987 it was restored to flying condition and flown to the Castle Air Museum, where it was restored in the markings seen here. The Albatross was first noted on display as such in Nov 1988.

Procured by USAF as SA-16B 52-129 but transferred to USCG on delivery as 2129.

The significance of the '049' on the nosewheel door (this side only) is unclear.

This aircraft has been at Wasilla Airport for many years. Don't know if it's flown regularly or just stored.

Originally USAF 51-7187. Not very much known about its status and ownership at the time. It became N48318 in June 1999 and was reported seen at Davis Monthan AFB in 2005 being used as a source of spares. Still there by March 2010.

Built for the USAF as SA-16B 51-7244 in 1953. Transferred to the USCG as UF-1G 7244 later a UF-2G. Redesignated as an HU-16E in 1962. To N55784 in 1980 and modified to a G-111. To N113FB in 1982. Stored at Marana from 1984 to 2017 when it was made operational again.

Allocated US Navy serial Bu148328 prior to delivery to the JMSDF as 9055 in 1961. Sold as N3469F in 1976. Converted to a G-111 for Chalks as N112FB in 1979. Stored at Marana, AZ from 1985. Still there in 2024.

Formerly with the US Navy as 137928, this Albatross was re-registered as N928J in October 1994.
