As YR-BCO operating for Tarom this aircraft was damaged beyond repair during a heavy landing at Istanbul on 30th Dec 1995.

Back in those days I had only a fixed 135 mm lens inherited from my dad. I didn't really know what I was doing, only that I loved to take pictures of aeroplanes - thankfully that love has stayed with me ever since!

The One-Eleven was still common at Schiphol in my Praktica days, but I never managed a good picture then or ever since, so I was delighted to photograph ZH763 here at the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre, still looking great after her final flight in 2013 and still not boxed in as usual in museums. Dbr at Stockholm-ARN on 7 June 1997 - bounced on landing, nose wheel hit heavily first, steering lost and veered off runway (flight RO335 from BUH). Hulk acquired by Caravelle Club, traded to RSAF for a Caravelle and trucked 600kms to Halmstad for use as a fire & rescue trainer
