The third production Alouette II had quite an interesting career. Taken on strength by the ALAT in June 1956, she was extensively used in the Algeria war. After having been decommissioned and registered F-GIJE, she flew a very lengthy trip in 2007, to celebrate the 100 years of vertical flying from Paris to... Oshkosh, via Scotland, Island, Greenland, Newfoundland and all the way down through the Americas! She finally hit the headlines on the 2 July 2018, when she was hijacked and used for a prison escape of a very high profile gangster. Sadly she was partly burnt by the hijackers after this event.

Obviously used as a travelling exhibit, this is none other than the first production Dauphin ever, the forerunner of a long running success story. C/n 1001 first flew as SA 360A with the reg F-WVKJ, and was eveluated by the French Navy before being decommissioned in 1984.
