FENIX 819 has an IFE and needs to land runway 30 at NAF El Centro. Making an arrested landing, everything worked out well for crew and aircraft.

Marine Attack Squadron (All Weather) 533 'Hawks' operated the A-6 Intruder since 1965. Soon after the transition to the Intruder the squadron was deployed to Vietnam to support combat operations. In 1975 they returned to Continental US where they were based at MCAS Cherry Point (NC). In 1976, the A-6A was replaced by the more modern A-6E. With that aircraft the Hawks deployed for another combat tour, this time to the Gulf War in 1990. In 1992 the A-6E was replaced by the F/A-18D.

This ex-VA-196 A-6 from the USS Carl Vinson is now awaiting it's turn in the restoration queue at the Yanks Air Museum.
