Built by Canadian Car & Foundry. Ex RCAF 20401. Competitor No. 29 in the 1971 London to Victoria BC Air Race.

With this aircraft the famed racing pilot Roscoe Turner became the only three-time winner of the Thompson Trophy (his first win in 1934 was in a different aircraft). He retired from racing to manage the Turner Aeronautical Corporation in Indianapolis until his death in 1970. This racer hung in a prominent place from the rafters of his main hangar until restored and placed in the Turner Museum. With the closing of his museum in late 1972, the racer was gratefully received by the NASM.

This marvellous aircraft, a licence built Ilyushin Il-10, is seen in the Polish Aviation Museum. The centre boss of the propellor has a strange appendage that may have been used for external engine starting using a geared motor linked to this boss
