Originally delivered as an L-188A to Eastern Air Lines in Jul 59 as N5535. Later, following conversion to L-188AF, it was also operated (with same reg) by Evergreen International and Galaxy Airlines. To Channel Express in Oct 1990 as N5535. Registered to Iona National Airways October 1st, 1993, but stayed in full Channel Express livery. It did carry an IONA logo but only on the port side. Left IONA in Jun 94. Re-reg G-CHNX in Nov 94. Wfu Feb 2003.

Testflown as PH-EXC with first flight 29-Nov-1983, it was delivered in Dec to Air Sinai as SU-GAE. In Apr-1997 it became G-CEXF wirh Channel Express, in Oct-2004 TC-MBB with MNG Airlines and in Mar-2010 PK-KRJ with Asialink. It is seen here on a training flight.

Being scrapped.

Sadly broken up in June 2008 but the nose survives at the new site.

This Electra would be withdrwan from use the following month and ferried to Willow Run for storage.

Retired to the Yorkshire Air Museum in October 1997. Scrapped by the museum circa May 2015.

Seen on a glorious summers evening, doing engine tests on the disused runway 23 at Dublin. This was an experience not to be had nowadays, with much tighter security and airfield safety regulations. G-CEXS was sold to Air Spray in Canada as C-GZCF.

N285F was broken up at Shannon following a landing accident in 1999.

On 1 March 1999 the crew of this aircraft had a lucky escape after they momentarily touched down at Shannon with landing-gear still retracted. While the machine was climbing away for a circuit to land, the propeller assembly and part of No. 3 engine fell to the ground. Electrical power was lost and the only serviceable flight instruments available were the standby artificial horizon and wet compass. So as to maintain control, No. 4 engine had to be feathered and a successful landing was made with only No. 1 engine fully operative and No. 2 producing partial power. N285F was later broken up.
