Delivered in Aug 1969 as shown here, with its new serial ٢٠٦ (= 206) on fin and nose, and the old serial 55-713 (still with the dropped Mark number prefix) on the rear fuselage. The Lightning was the last type to use Saudi Arabia's old Mark number prefix system. In the mid 1980s the 21 remaining RSAF Lightnings were acquired by British Aerospace as part of the Tornado F.3 deal. This example was allocated serial ZF598 and flown to Warton, UK on 14 Jan 1986 and stored. It went to the Midland Air Museum on 19 Jan 1989. The Saudi tail and nose markings were added recently (still missing in Jul 2008).

Exercise Green Shield brought six Eagles of the Royal Saudi Air Force to Dijon, France. Five F-15Cs and this sole F-15D. These Eagles are normally based at Taif/King Fahd Air Base).

Exercise Green Shield 2 brought six Royal Saudi Air Force Eagles to Dijon, France. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great during my visit.

Exercice Aérien Franco Saoudien, or in English France-Saudi air force exercise, Green Shield 2, brought six Royal Saudi Air Force F-15 Eagles to the Frecnch air force base Dijon in 2009. This 512 is FMS serial 80-0072 and was sold under the Peace Sun programme to Saudi.
