Originally operated with the serial 53, it is seen here marked NZ53. The rustic location is believed to be on the west coast of the South Island. Why it is on the farm is not explained. NZ53 became an instructional airframe and was broken up in 1943. Photo from: Air Force Museum of New Zealand

NZ3501 showing the damage caused when it collided with Ventura NZ4518 on March 1, 1945. Four of the five on the Ventura parachuted to safety but the pilot was unable to bail out in time. NZ3501 flew subsequent to the collision but it is not known the permanency of the repairs. It was at Ohakea in March 1946 before being flown to Hobsonville to become an instructional airframe. It ended its days on the Whenuapai fire dump after being towed back there. Photo from: Air Force Museum of New Zealand
