Former Guardia di Finanza serial MM80854/GdiF-55 was delivered to the Armed Forces of Malta, Malta Air Squadron on 9 June 1992. The helicopter became 9H-ABZ within the 2nd Regiment and its registration was cancelled on 1 May 2000 when it became serial AS9214. It was reported withdrawn from use in October 2003, offered for sale in November 2006 and seen partly dismanteld in April 2007. As such it was still at Luqa in 2016, but it current fate is unknown.

Former Luftwaffe AS377, LA106 and 7420, this Bell was transported by a Luftwaffe C-160 to Malta on 29 May 1972 and registered 9H-AAG a few months later. It served the Armed Forces of Malta, Air Squadron and 2nd Regiment until April 1997. The registration was cancelled from the Maltese register on 20 November 1997. It was shipped off in a container for the Aviation Academy in the University of UAE and became an ground instructional airframe at the Dubai Aviation Academy with the fictitious registration A6-BEL; Of note, the construction plate reports it as a AB47J, not AB47G-2 (February 2018).

Former 5A-BAM and Libyan Arab Air Force serial 8185 (see tail, the left side of the tail shows no 8185), was delivered to the Armed Forces of Malta, Malta Air Squadron on 4 June 1973. It served the 2nd Regiment up to Apri 1997. The Jet Ranger was sold as it was cancelled in Maltese register on 22 August 1997. The helicopter became G-DNCN with J.J. Woodhouse Flying Services on 21 November 1997.

Former USAF serial 62-12281 and Italian Army MM62-12281/E.I.12, this Bird Dog was delivered to the Armed Forces of Malta / Malta Air Squadron on 4 February 1992. It became 9H-ACE within the 2nd Regiment. It's civil registration 9H-ACE was cancelled on 1 May 2000 and it was reserialled to AS9210. The aircraft became N119LF with A.F. Bush in Albuquerque (NM) on 9 January 2001. The Bird Dog is seen here at an unusual less sunny platform at Luqa.

The registration was cancelled on 1 May 2000 and became serial AS9213. It was last seen in operational service in September 2001, after which it was stored at Luqa and offered for sale in October 2003. The Hughes was handed over at Luqa for preservation and display with the GdF on 13 February 2018. It was fully restored as AS9213 and placed in the GdF museum at Pratica di Mare (Italy) on 19 December 2018.

Former USAF 61-2990 and Italian Army MM61-2990/E.I.26, this Bird Dog was delivered to the Armed Forces of Malta, Malta Air Squadron on 4 February 1992. It served the 2nd Regiment as 9H-ACD. This registration was cancelled in 1 May 2000 and the Bird Dog became AS9209. The aircaft was sold to Allan E. Jonhson in Stillwater (MN) as N119AJ on 1 March 2001.

This is former Libyan Arab Air Force serial LC2288. It was delivered to ther Armed Forces of Malta, Malta Air Squadron on 19 July 1993 and assigned to the 2nd Regiment as 9H-AAV. This registration was cancelled on 1 May 2000 and the Alouette became serial AS9315. It was modified in 2010 with a new engine, a winch and a new colour scheme. The Alouette 3 was withdrawn from use by 2014.

Former 9M-TAD, G-TWOB and G-BKJJ, this Islander was delivered to the Armed Forces of Malta / Malta Air Squadron on 4 December 1995. It was assigned to the 2nd Regiment. The registration became a serial AS9516 on 1 May 2000. The aircraft is still operational with the tiny air force.

This AB47 is former Luftwaffe AS060 and 74+18 before it was flown to Malta (inside a C-160D) on 24 May 1972. The small helicopter became 9H-AAF on 14 July 1972 and was assigned to the Armed Forces of Malta / Air Squadron and the 2nd Regiment. The civil registration 9H-AAF was cancelled on 5 December 1997. The helicopter remained in storage up to September 1999 and was sold as F-GLNY.

Former F-WIPH became Libyan Police LC2315. The Alouette was delivered from Libya to Malta on 24 December 1992 and assigned to the Armed Forces of Malta / Malta Air Squadron and became 9H-AAX within the 2nd Regiment. The registration was cancelled on 1 May 2000 and the helicopter became serial AS9212. It is seen here in maintenance inside the AFM hangar.

Ex Italian MM61-2972. Delivered to Malta in May 1992 as 9H-ACA and re-serialled in May 2000. Seen just before sale to the USA, initially as N619SB which was not taken up and became N841CP in December 2001. Current with a Locust Grove, Georgia based owner at time of upload.

Ex Italian Guadia Finanza MM80848, delivered to Malta as 9H-ABY in 1992 and re-serialled as AS9213 in 2000. Withdrawn and stored for several years before returning to Italy in December 2018 to be displayed at the Museo Storico del Servizio Aereo GdF at Pratica di Mare.

One of a pair of King Airs operated by the Air Wing of the Armed Forces of Malta in the maritime patrol role. It is seen taxiing back to its hangar at the end of the first day of the Malta International Airshow.

Delivered in 1976 as LC2288 to the Libyan Air Force. Operated in Malta by the Libyan Military Mission in the 1970s and one of three Allouette 3s left behind when the Libyan Mission departed in 1980. Eventually, after overhaul by Eurocopter, it was operated from 1993 by the Malta Air Squadron as 9H-AAV before being re-serialled AS9315 in May 2000. Withdrawn from use in 2020.
