Pictured whilst serving the Lightning Training Flight, based at RAF Binbrook, this Lightning had earlier seen service with 111 and 5 Sqns. Later performed as 11 Sqn's display aircraft and was withdrawn in 1.87 with 3212 hours after a period back at the LTF, being scrapped next year. This Barracuda II was written off landing at Fearn at night in a crosswind on 15 December 1944. It was serving 814 Squadron, Fleet Air Arm. It had been built by Fairey Aviation at Ringway in April 1944. From Fairey Aviation 50 years ago.

Having entered service in 1965, the Dominie is the longest serving RAF aircraft though they were retired at the end of that week. Here three aircraft, XS730 (H) and XS739 (F) being the others return to Cranwell following flypasts at several other airfields and Rolls Royce factories
