A rare breed is this Tornado F2. Failed as an interceptor some were used well into the nineties for trials and training.

In its time this high speed, medium range, low level ground attack/recce aircraft was the most potent of its kind in the Warsaw Pact. The M-4 was final export version and was manufactured from 1983 to 1990. In 1992, just before the split, Czechoslovakia had 49 Su-22M-4s and 8 Su-22UM-3Ks. Unfortunately 4009 was w/o nine months after this shot (18.3.93)

After a long career with the ETPS, used for repair training at Abingdon, given maintenance serial 8643M and finally died after going to the Catterick fire school in 1.86

Taken from Auster Autocar G-AMFP on an attempted flight from Southend to the airshow at Chivenor - unfortunately headwinds meant that we never made it that far...Hercules, Argosy, Nimrod, two Hastings and two Comets of the A&AEE sit at rest below. Identities, from furthest, are XW626, XS235, then probably TG502, TG500 and XN817; Nimrod and Hercules could be one of several used

Built as a Meteor F.8 and later converted to D.16 drone director standard for operation by the RAE base at Llanbedr. The Meteor controlled drones over the Aberporth test range in the Irish Sea.

Delivered in 1953 and served with 82, 58, 69 and 39 Sqdns before joining the A&AEE at Boscombe for camera trials in 1968. Now one of only two surviving PR.3's and looking good at the Midland Air Museum, Coventry, after attention from a devoted individual. Was obtained from Marshalls of Cambridge in fairly poor condition
