This is a test and development prototype with the manufacturer's designation T8-15 and the code 15 blue. It was used for the testing of the new R195 engine. However, for the Paris Air Show this was replaced by a standard R95Sh engine because the R195 was still secret, and the code was changed to 301 blue which actually was the Le Bourget exhibit code. In 1990 it was converted to a Su-25BM prototype (Sukhoi designation T8BM-2). It later went to the Central Aerodrome Museum at Moscow-Khodynka and when that closed in 2003 it went to the Museum of Technology of Vadim Zadorozhny in Arkhangelskoye.

The US Army wanted an attack helicopter that was better than its AH-1 Cobra in leathality, firepower, performance and range with high maneuverability for nap-of-the-earth flying. This resulted in the Advanced Attack Helicopter contest on 15 Nov 1972. Proposals were submitted by Bell, Boeing Vertol/Grumman team, Hughes, Lockheed, and Sikorsky. In Jul 1973, Bell and Hughes were finalist and could develop their proposals. In 1976 the Apache was selected. In 1983 the 2nd AH-64 prototype (this AV2) visited Le Bourget. Hughes was purchased in 1984 by McDonnell Douglas that merged with Boeing in 1997.

This unique DHC-5 Quiet Short-Haul Research Aircraft (QSRA) variant was a NASA research aircraft modified to study and develop Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) technology. The QSRA was among other things modified with 4 Lycoming F102 turbofan engines. It first flew in this configuration in 1978. This aircraft even performed a landing and takeoff on the US aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk, (of course) requiring neither arresting gear nor catapult launch. The techniques learned from this Buffalo stood model for the Boeing YC-14/C-17 programme and is now preserved at Moffett Museum's airpark (CA)

Present at the static of Le Bourget was this Alpha Jet, destined for the Egypt Air Force. The aircraft was delivered shortly after the show to El Minya air base where it was assigned to the Weapon Training Brigade. Egypt ordered thirty MS1 variants of which four were built in France while 26 were assembled in Egypt during the late 70s and early 80s. Fifteen new-built MS2 were ordered in the early 80s, directly produced by the manufacturer.
