Arriving for the 1995 IAT

Operated by the 510 Fighter Squadron based at Aviano in Italy. Very unusual location of the aircraft's serial on the under fuselage strakes.

It was good to see this Antonov in the UK (support for the Biało-Czerwone Iskry aerobatic team), bringing back memories of a noisy flight in her from KRK to PRG and return in 1991. One of three which were operated by the military in LOT colours for ten years from Mar 1986, this one was otherwise known as 1604 and was delivered to the Polish AF as such in Mar 1973 and reverted to those marks in Feb 1996. Reported wfu 2005 but seen parked at KRK 2008 in the two-tone green and grey camo; registered SP-EKF and noted at KTW 2010, still there 2017 as '1604'

This 1953-vintage Canberra spent a lifetime on trails work at the RAE, latterly with the DTEO and Flight Refuelling at Llanbedr where she was eventaully scrapped at the end of 2004. The cockpit section found its way across the world to the Ashburton museum in NZ
