Built in 1976 as G-BEDR, serving as the company demonstrator. Sold to Air Ecosse (Scotland) in 1978. Sold in July 1981 and prepared for onward sale to the US, Operated as N420WA for Wings Airways (USA) until 1992, when it was withdrawn from use and put into storage. Became YV943C for Transaven in 1998. To Aerolamsa in July 2004. Went to Aeroferinco (Mexico) before being purchased by Vision Air (Haiti) in September 2009. To GECA Servicios Aereos (Dominican Republic) in 2014 as HI962 (still visible on the #2 engine). Registered as N928MJ to AiroJet Parts Inc. on 24 October 2019.

Ex. N302GA, N522SB, N339A, N684AT, N774AK. In February 2018 it was pictured in similar poor condition at Okeechobeee, Florida. On 21 August 2022 the aircraft had filed a flight plan from Toluca (Mexico) to Oranjestad (Aruba). South of Jamaica, the aircraft vanished from radar and was later found abandoned in El Zompopero, San Luis, Petén (Guatemala). It had been intentionally crash landed there while trafficking narcotics. No arrest were made and no narcotics were found. Photo/video evidence shows a quite well executed landing. When I took the photo I initially thought that this was the end of line for the aircraft but with the above knowledge in mind it may have been waiting for maintenance.

Delivery flight.

Located at a workshop just outside the airport (the fence in the background is the airport perimeter). I didn't immediately recognize the type of aircraft and the people working there didn't know either. Thankfully, the editors here were able to help me out (thanks Aad & Peter!). The body was identified as being from Aerocomp, but there is a noticeable lack of attachment points for wings and engines. There are also 5 windows visible, where the original Jet had 4. That makes it likely that this is a mockup or new concept for the Aerocomp Jet aircraft.

Located at the Navy Seal museum near Fort Pierce, this bird has quite some history under its belt. Commisioned in 1991, it amassed 5090 flight hours and saw action in Afghanistan, Colombia, Horn of Africa, Iraq, Poland, Okinawa and Somalia. It was shot down 3 times. But perhaps the most noteworthy of them all was when a SEAL team rescued Jessica Buchanan and Poul Hagen Thisted from Somali pirates in 2012, using this helicopter. After its active life it was donated to the museum.

A nice find and new type for my vocabulary. Now resident of what I can only describe as the corrosion corner of the airfield.
