Originally built as a Dove 4 and then modified to Dove 6 specs with more powerful engines. It spent the whole of its flying career from 1948 to 1972 based at Stansted Airport checking airport navigational aids and radio communications as well as aircrew training. It amassed a total of 10,597 hours before arriving at the IWM Duxford in 1973. In 1984 it was transferred to the Duxford Aviation Society but remained on display at the IWM. Seen here displayed in IWM's AirSpace.

This Lancaster was built in Canada, arriving in England in January 1945. However, after only six months it was returned to Canada and converted to a maritime reconnaissance and rescue role along with various periods in storage and close scrapes with the axeman. In 1986 it crossed the Atlantic again and is now on display in AirSpace at the IWM Duxford.
