17 Jan 1974: TOS USMC as an AV-8A and assigned to Marine Attack Squadron 513 (VMA-513), MCAS Yuma, AZ. 1982: Upgraded to AV-8C and then assigned to VMA-231, MCAS Cherry Point, NC, aboard USS Nassau (LHA-4). It was later transferred back to VMA-513 aboard USS Guadalcanal (LPH-7) and later on USS Tarawa (LHA1). By 11/88: AMARC, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ as 7A038. By 10/94: Naval Aviation Museum, NAS Pensacola, FL.

3/78: TOS USN and assigned to Attack Squadron 174 (VA-174), NAS Cecil Field, FL. Ca.4/78: VA-81, NAS Oceana, VA. 1979 to 1981: Deployed three times on USS Forrestal. Ca.1981 to 1990: VA-83, NAS Oceana. Deployed on USS Forrestal and USS John F. Kennedy. 1990: VA-46 at NAS Cecil Field, FL. While with VA-46, the plane flew off of USS John F. Kennedy in Desert Storm, flying 37 combat missions over Iraq and Kuwait, including the first attack against Baghdad. 5/91: Flown to National Naval Aviation Museum, NAS Pensacola, FL.

1971: TOS USN and assigned to Attack Squadron 147 (VA-147), NAS Lemoore, CA. The squadron then deployed with this plane aboard the USS Constellation for combat in South Vietnam. When the plane returned in June 1972 it was assigned to VA-22, also from NAS Lemoore. 1972 to 1974: Deployed aboard the USS Coral Sea three times for combat in South Vietnam. 1980: VA-93, NAS Yokosuka, Japan. Ca.1982: VA-94, NAS Lemoore. By 1983: VA-146, NAS Lemoore. 1984: VA-97, NAS Lemoore. By 1988: SOC and salvaged. 3/88: Cockpit section to National Naval Aviation Museum, NAS Pensacola, FL

October/80: VAQ-129. August/85: Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River. From July/86 to October/96: Rotated among squadrons at Whidbey. November/96: VX-23, NAS Patuxent River. June/98: VX-9, NAS China Lake, CA. By April/02: VX-23. 3 June 2010: Ferried to the National Naval Aviation Museum as the oldest active EA-6B.

8/68: TOS USN as A-6A, assigned to Attack Squadron 165 (VA-165) at NAS Whidbey Island, WA. 1969: VA-196, also at Whidbey. 1977: Converted to A-6E. Changed squadrons at Whidbey 5 more times before 1987 (VA-145, VA-196, VA-128, VA-145, VA-196) when it was assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadrons 5 (VX-5) at China Lake for two years before being sent back to VA-196 at Whidbey. While with VA-196 the plane was deployed on the USS Independence for combat in Operation Desert Storm. It was finally acquired by the Naval Aviation Museum in May 1994.

By 3/99 the plane was stored on the ramp at the National Naval Aviation Museum. In 2015 it was on loan to the Veteran's Memorial Park in Collegedale, TN, where it is mounted on a pole.
