This aircraft came on to the British register as G-EGVA on 20th December 2012, but on 2nd April 2022 as it approached the middle of the English Channel whilst taking part in a club "fly-out" to Le Touquet, France, from its Wellesbourne Mountford base, one of its pilots reported to London Information that they were in cloud and shortly after the aircraft disappeared from radar. An extensive search of the area was coordinated by the UK and French Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centres but neither the aircraft nor its occupants were found. The registration was cancelled on 19th May 2022.

This 360 was originally delivered to Command Airways as N162DD in October 1987 and opertaed for American Eagle. It also flew for Flagship Airlines and Executive Airlines (American Eagle) before joining Express Airlines/Federal Express as D-CFDX in March 1999. It was then bought by Roblex Aviation in June 2003 and is pictured here departing off rw08. The plane was retired around October 2011 and subsequently scrapped.

This old Convair was based in Opa Locka and is pictured on very short final for rw08. The plane was originally delivered to the USAF as 51-5147.

Not the best quality, but an interesting one.

This former Libyan Air Force 8204 was donated to Somalia as 6O-204 (six Oscar 204) in 1990. The aircraft was dumped near the Kenyatta ruways together with an unknown (to me) An-24.

Scrapped Dzhankoi in July 2013.

This Dash 8 was originally delivered to CCAir in May 1992. It flew with caribbean Sun from December 2003 until July 2008 and is pictured here on short final for rw08. The plane now flies for Air Creebec C-FDWO.

This old freighter was built as a TC-47B-30-DK at Oklahoma City and TOC by the USAAF as 44-76588. It was registered to Four Star in September 1986 and is pictured here turning to line up with rw08. The registration was cancelled in July 2018 and the plane is currently stored at Riverside / Rubidoux - Flabob (RIR).

Fortunately this nice plane was based at SJU during the time of my visit. It is pictured here about to touch down on rw08 and made many trips back and forth during the day.

This is a view from my American A300 of the biz-jet/private ramp at SJU with some stored, engineless DC-3s and this Convair behind. It was built originally for the Royal Australian AF as A96-353 from November 1956. It then moved axross the Pacific with various owners as N599E, N912PS, N912AL and PZ-TGA. It re-appeared as N912AL in April 1996 with Tol-Air and then Dodita Air Cargo. It was wfu sometime around this date, stored at SJU but is now part of the 'Los Aviones' restaurant in Barranquitas.

Pictured about to touch down on rw08, arriving presumably from MIA. This plane was delivered to American in November 1988 and made its last revenue flight from PAP to MIA in August 2009. It was then ferried to ROW and scrapped in September 2011 with 21,368 cycles and 55226.47 total time.

A most rare aircraft in my collection, 9U-BRY formerly of the Burundi Air Force. The tiny African air force operated two of these beauties. 9U-BRY had been withdrawn from use by 2003, but UN employees saw this (or sistership 9U-BRZ) flying up to 2006.

A most rare duo of aircraft in my collection, the left one is C-47A 9U-BRZ, and on the right is 9U-BRY c/n 9369. The Burundi Air Force once operated these two beauties. According to the Dakota bible, both had been withdrawn from use by 2003, but UN employees saw at least one flying up to 2006.

Unfortunately my only experience of the Turks and Caicos Islands is to fly right over the top of them on the way to SJU from MIA. It can be seen that the runway at Grand Turk almost reaches from one coast to the other.
