After this 1982 F/A-18B was retired in 2009, the dual seat legacy Hornet was preserved at Chino (CA) from Aprul 2012 onwards.

After this 1982 F/A-18A was retired on 22 February 2010, the aircraft was preserved at NAS Kingsville (TX)

This '84 F/A-18A was used by the USNFDS up to 21 Apr'07. During the final minutes of the air show over MCAS Beaufort (SC), the pilots were doing a maneuver which involved all 6 Hornets joining to form a Delta triangle. 162897 did not rejoin and crashed, eight people on the ground got injured and the pilot, Lt.Cmdr. Kevin "Kojak" Davis (Blue Angels #6), was killed. The mishap was caused by a failure to perform a proper Anti-G Straining Maneuver, resulting in the pilot's suffering from possible physiological effects that contributed to his loss of situational awareness of his rate of descent.

After a long career with the US Navy, NASA (N848NA) and the US Naval Reserves, this 1982 F/A-18A became a Blue Angels in 1999. The Hornet was retired on 26 March 2009, was moved to the National Museum of Naval Aviation at Pensacola (FL) but loaned to the Valiant Air Command Museumat Titusville (FL) since April 2011.

Registered as N772TP in 1999, N29AH in 2000, LN-MOO in 2003, SE-LVU in 2005 and G-GMAF in 2020.

Delivered new to VASP as PP-SNF 29th Apr 1977 and registered to UPS as N214UP 28th June 1985, converted to freighter Nov 1985 and became PR-LGC with Varig Log 5th May 2003. Withdrawn from use SBSJ (São José dos Campos) some time in 2009

Ex Futura EC-GUG, registered PP-VTL to Varig 10th July 2004 and became ZS-OAF with Comair/Kulula 6th March 2007

Delivered new to United as N343UA 14th Nov 1988 and registered PR-GLQ to GOL 21st Apr 2006. Withdrawn from use KOPF (Opa Locka) 12th Aug 2010 and returned to lessor (Automatic LLC ) as N191AQ 3rd May 2011

Delivered to the Swedish Army as 02201 in 1959. Retired in 1969 and used as a ground trainer at Västerås -Johannisberg. To the Flygteknikcentrum at Västerås-Hässlö by 1988 and stored. To the Swedish Air Force Museum (Flygvapenmuseum) at Linköping/Malmen in 2015 then to Brattbytorpet Vintage Machine Museum in Stavre, near Östersund, in October 2016.
