"Saturn 2" enjoys some early evening sunshine as it taxies back to the 56(R) Squadron flightline. Scrapped at Leeming after 2009

This 146 was intended originally for American as N693AA but this fell through and the frame went eventually to Loganair in May 1989 as G-OLCB, with a short time also with Malmo Aviation. It went to Jersey European in March 1993 as G-JEAK and flew with the various changes until it was retired from the fleet in April 2007. It then went in June 2007 to Humus Air as LZ-HBZ, with a few months leased to Belle Air and Taban Airlines, and then on to Bulgaria Air. The frame has now been converted into a water bomber as flies for Neptune Aviation Services as N477NA.

This 736 was originally delivered to SAS in April 1999. It went to Flyglobespan in April 2005 and is pictured here pushing back from the terminal for departure. From November 2008 until May 2013 it flew with Eaststar as HL7781. It was then ferried to Tupelo (TUP) for storage and susequent scrappage.

As the numbers suggest, Leuchars has over 7,000 feet of runway available, and on a clear evening such as this you can make out the choppy North Sea at the 27 end.

"Hotel Golf" of 111 Squadron taxies out for an early evening sortie, framed, appropriately by the town of St Andrews - the Home of Golf.
