Constructed for and delivered to American Airlines in 1937 this is one of the oldest DC-3s around. Its last commercial use was as an agricultural sprayer for K&K Aircraft from 1985 until 2004 out of Bridgewater (VA). The aircraft was eventually bought by the Flagship Detroit Foundation in early 2005 who's aim it was to restore the DC-3 to its former glory. By the time this picture was taken the aircraft already recieved its origional American Airlines colours but still missing one engine.

This C-54 was once owned by Central Air Service and operated as fire fighter in the 1970s. Code 102 and the fire retardant drop tank located on the underside of the belly are a remainder of that time. This drop tank however was later removed but the aircraft remained stored at the Dempsay farm airstrip.

If you look closely you can just make out the faded registration on the rear fuselage of this Lockheed Lodestar. This perticular aircraft was built in 1940 and is owned by D&D Aero since 1976 and based out of this airstrip ever since.

Officialy registered as N37737 for D&D Aero the only identification found on this aircraft was the faded registration HB-ITD. What I personally found interesting, as a former employee of Martinair, that this DC-3 ones flew for Martin's Air Charter as PH-MAA.

Like many surviving DC-3s N200MX had a long career, built in 1941 for Penn Central Airlines the aircraft saw brief military service between 1942 and 1943 before being returned to Penn Central. Up until the time this picture was taken the DC-3 had mostly flown within the USA for various operators. Between 1968 and 1984 though, the aircraft flew for a company from Ecuador as HC-AOP, the colour scheme (?) and name is also from this time. Tariri, Chief was later added, was a leader of the Indian Shapras Tribe during the 1950s and 1960s who lived in the border area of Peru and Ecuador

On 8 October 1999 SAS Commuter Saab 2000 SE-LSF was being taxied by two maintenance technicians at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. The aircraft ended up in a hangar while the hangar door was still closed... Luckily both occupants escaped unhurt but the Saab was written-off and the wreckage ended up at Dodsons yard in Rantoul (KS)

The United States Customs Service was ones the owner of no less than seven GAF Nomad Searchmasters which they primarily operated from Florida throughout the 1990s. The six that were left by the end of 1999 / early 2000, were eventually sold of which four to Dodson International Aircraft Parts. If an aircraft wreck can fit in a container it can be moved to the Dodson salvage yard in Rantoul, Kansas, or at least that is my assumption. How else can this Casa end up here all the way from Mokhotlong Airport in Lesotho. This is where, on 16 December 2000, the aircraft overran the runway while landing and ended up inside a local store just outside of the airport perimeter fence.
