Destroyed a mid air collision with PA38 ZK-EVA which ran into the back of EQM while trying to join formation. EQM spun in killing the two onboard. The student pilot in ZK-EVA was also killed but the instructor was able to the land the damaged aircraft at Palmerston North. He was charged and convicted of three counts of manslaughter. First flew as F-WUAV in 1977. Reregistered as F-WZES then leased to Iran Air as F-ODHY in 1978. Returned and reregistered as F-GBNI in 1979. To Eastern Air Lines as N291EA in 1980 then to Alitalia as I-BUSM in 1988. Withdrawn from use at Rome-Fiumicino in 1997. Scrapped in 2005.

I logged my first hour of dual instruction in this aircraft when I was 13 years old, a few months before I took this photo in the summer of 1980.

In Ex-Allegheny colours. Delivered to Mohawk Airlines as N1114J in 1965, Merged into Allegheny Airlines in 1972. Renamed USAir in 1979. Stored at Las Vegas in 1988. To Kabo Air as 5N-KBV in 1991. Later scrapped.

N4763R was reregistered N3833J.

PK-OBJ was written off at Pontianak in November 1982.

PK-VAA is ex Indonesian Air Force PB-522. It was at the time used to support Indonesian oil rigs for Conoco Inc. from a base in Singapore. Its fate is not known.
