Delivered new to the CAA for runway calibration work on 04 Sep 1969. To Emerald Airways in Sep 1998 and stored. Cancelled on 17 Jan 2003 and broken up at EXT on 14 May 2004. The fuselage was put into a flooded quarry for use by divers.

Transferred to KLM on 11 Dec 1981. To Midway Airlines as N947ML on 17 Jun 1987.To Trans American Charter on 10 Nov 1992. To Express One International on 02 Jun 1994. To Spirit Airlines on 24 Aug 1995. Sold to Aerocalifornia in Mexico as XA-ACZ on 27 Oct 2000. Airline ceased ops 23 Jul 2008. Aircraft stored.

In those days you could walk around to the executive apron at Gatwick and get photos through the fence. Built in 1968 and registered to Hawker Siddeley as G-AVVA. To Transair in Switzerland as HB-VBN in Apr 1968. To Italy as I-BOGI in Jul 1968. Stored at EIN May to Dec 1980. To Nigeria as 5N-AVV in 1981. Broken up at CVT by 1996. Parked behind is PH-HES Cessna 550 Citation II of Heerema Engineering Service.

Seen at the general aviation terminal. G-BAXG registered to Peaktape Ltd and HS.125-700B G-BFVI registered to Bristow's Helicopters. G-BAXG - Delivered new to the Swiss register as HB-VAN on 29 Apr 1966. To G-BAXG on 03 May 1973. Reregistered to G-ONPN on 20 Jun 1980. To the Nigerian register as 5N-ASZ on 21 Jul 1985. Noted at SOU 22 Apr 1986 in a poor condition. Broken up at SOU Nov 1986. G-BFVI - Delivered new to the UK register as G-BFVI on 05 Jun 1978. Reregistered to G-IFTE on 16 May 1996. WFU sometime from 2015 and registration cancelled as scrapped on 15 May 2018.

Seen from the old viewing terrace. Delivered to Pakistan International on 21 Dec 1961 as AP_AMG. Leased to Air Malta from 29 Mar 1974. Later bought and reregistered 9H-AAM on 01 Apr 1979. WFU at Luqa in Oct 1981 and used for fire practice. In the background is a 707 of BCAL and from Dan Air a 727, HS748 and no less than 6 Comets.

Delivered to Pacific Air Lines as N989PC on 10 Mar 1967. Merged into Air West. Next to Union of Burma Airways as XY-ADR on 09 Jul 1970. Acquired by Dan Air as G-BEGZ on 08 Oct 1976 and kept her until 09 Apr 1981 when she became an exec jet with registrations VR-CBG, HZ-AMH, VR-CBV, VR-CWC, VP-CWC and P4-JLD. The last three registations being with the Government of Tartarstan. WFU in 2001. Also in view is OY-ARP Cessna 500 Citation I.

Seen from the viewing terrace. Delivered to SATA on 06 Mar 1970. Later renamed CTA. Sold to Istanbul Airlines as TC-ABA on 31 May 1988. WFU and donated to Istanbul Air Museum in Dec 1992. Its a busy ramp with 2 British Island Airways (BIA) Heralds G-APWG and G-AVPN. A French Nord 262 possibly F-BLKE and a Skyways DC-3 freighter.

The Coronado was a great aircraft noisy and very fast but alas it did guzzle fuel. Luckily Spantax were happy to operate quite a large fleet of them for a number of years. Delivered to American 04 Apr 1962 as N5610. Bought by Spantax 5 years later on 19 Feb 1967 as EC-BJC. This aircraft was WFU at Palma in Oct 1979 and broken up in 1991. Parking next to B747-127 N601BN 'The Big Orange' from Braniff. Also in view a Britannia 737, 707's from BCAL and Dan Air, 5 Dan Air Comets and an HS748.
