In an effort to remove from Australia aircraft that could threaten the two-airline policy, the federal government bought the DC-3s owned by the failed operator Jetair. The aircraft were then given way as aid. VH-EQB went to Laos. The two-airline policy was finally abolished in 1990. Neither of the two airlines protected by the policy survived beyond 2001. Accompanying the 3 Wing/42 Sm. RF-84F FR-34 from Bierset at the Alconbury Open House was this F-84F (ex 52-7216) of 2 Wing/1 Sm., similarly making a final show appearance away from its Florennes base. Interestingly, an F-84F painted as FU-52 in the original silver colours is part of the Florennes base collection, but this one is really FU-144

Formerly USAF 53-7677 and WGAF, this super machine was making its last public appearance, complete with "Adieu a toi le Petit Dernier' titles. Later scrapped.

VH-ILD was registered in April 1970.

Resplendent in its original silver finish, this CF-104 went on to serve with the Turkish AF.

Extensively modified and rare floatplane Auster. Converted from J-5B VH-BPB, which had been retired in 1961. Officially a J-5G/A1, it bore little resemblance to a normal J-5G. First flew in 1971 and crashed January 3, 1973.
