The Sea Balliols of 702 Naval Air Squadron moved into Ford from Lee-on-Solent in October 1957 and operated from there until the base closed in August 1958. Delivered in June 1953, WL716 was S.O.C. at Lossiemouth in March 1964 and scrapped.

On display by the former entrance to the airfield. Built in 1955 as an F.4. Served with no 98 Sqd.and 229 OCU. R.A.F. Modified,it was issued to FRADU in 1962 and became part of the Blue Herons Display Team. Passed to the School of Aircraft Handling at Culdrose in 1987. WFU March 1993 The DD marked on the tail (not shown)stands for dummy deck.

Light amphibian aircraft completed in early 1970. Damaged beyond repair on 13 January 1973. G-AXZN's primary claim to fame is that it flew Edward Woodward, the principal character, out to the pagan Hebridean island of "Summerisle" in the 1973 film 'The Wicker Man'. The flying sequences in the film involving the Thurston Teal were filmed with owner Christopher Murphy at the controls.
