It has PK-GDZ under the wing but PK-GDZ crashed into a mountain on approach to Surabaya in 1961 killing 14 people. Scramble show it as being c/n 26903/15458 the original RI-001.

Named after Aceh's Gold Mountain volcano, Seulawah was Indonesia's mythical first airliner. There are now three C-47s in Indonesia painted as RI-001, and all are fake. This one is claimed to ex 42-92686, DT-991, NI-480, PK-RCI, T-491, PK-DPK and lastly PK-GDZ of Garuda. PK-GDZ crashlanded on 29 December 1961, so it seems likely that parts from another DC-3 were used in the restoration and that this is in fact a composite airframe. The museum maintains that its identity is ex PK-GDZ. The real RI-001 was c/n 26903, fate unclear.

A rare K5Y 'Willow', one of a number of leftover Japanese aircraft used by the fledgling Indonesian air force. The Indonesians called the type Cureng, or Tjoereng in a Dutch-influenced spelling, hence the serial. Apparently it's a word of Japanese origin meaning 'intermediate trainer'.

Its wreck was found in New Guinea in 1987, but it's painted as a Ki-51 used by the Indonesians against the Dutch after World War II. Radio mast is broken and pointing forward
