Named after Aceh's Gold Mountain volcano, Seulawah was Indonesia's mythical first airliner. There are now three C-47s in Indonesia painted as RI-001. This one is claimed to ex 42-92686, DT-991, NI-480, PK-RCI, T-491, PK-DPK and lastly PK-GDZ of Garuda. PK-GDZ crashlanded on 29 December 1961, so it seems likely that parts from another DC-3 were used in the restoration and that this is in fact a composite airframe. The museum maintains that its identity is ex PK-GDZ.
