In the hangar at IWM Duxford. The aircraft was sent to the Falklands in May 1982 where it took part in the fighting. Pucarás were based at Port Stanley, Goose Green and Pebble Island. The type scored the only Argentine air-to-air victory by shooting down a Scout helicopter. After the surrender this Pucará was shipped to the UK. The aircraft is powered by a 978-hp Turbomeca Astazou XVIG turboprop driving a three-blade Hamilton Standard 23LF/1015-0 propeller. The FN 7.62 mm gun and HS-804 20 mm cannon ports can be seen along with the front wheel housing in the nose. The wheel track is 4.2 m.

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) was one of few export customers of the Argentina-designed and built IA-58 Pucara, the others being Colombia and Uruguay. The type was used during the internal conflict which ended in 2009. CA-605 (ex CA-602 and ex A-601 with the Air Force of Argentina) is seen here resting from duty in the excellent museum in Ratmalana.

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) was one of few export customers of the Argentina-designed and built IA-58 Pucara, the others being Colombia and Uruguay. The type was used during the internal conflict which ended in 2009. CA-605 (ex CA-602 and ex A-601 with the Air Force of Argentina) is seen here resting from duty in the excellent museum in Ratmalana.
