Calair was a short-lived German charter airline that aquired five Boeing 720-025Bs from Eastern Airlines in 1970. When the airline folded in 1972, three were picked up by Air Rhodesia circumventing UN sanctions. D-ACIQ went on to serve with Voyager 1000, Air Viking, and Arnarflug. Photographer unknown

Together with two sister ships, D-ACIP found a new home in Rhodesia (later Zimbabwe), and after 1988, the airliner even saw further service with Zairean Air Charter Service as 9Q-CTD, before being withdrawn at Kinshasa.

Following the failure of Calair, Air Rhodesia clandestinely acquired three of Calair's five 720s arriving in Salisbury almost in formation in April 1973.
