Grainy photo from the application for a certificate of airworthiness. VH-BAU spent 6½ years with Airlines (WA) before being sold. It was withdrawn from use at Maylands in 1955 because of deteriorating glues. Wooden parts of the aircraft ended up behind a car yard in the Perth suburb of Belmont. The wood was reused in restoration and amateur-built aircraft projects.

The library says the photo is at Meekatharra but the aircraft was also named Meekatharra. Was this confusion? VH-UTW did fly to Meekatharra and there is nothing about the background that would exclude Meekatharra - or just about any other port the airline served.
